Rutland County Council

Alicia Kearns – MP for Rutland

A meeting will be held at the new Church Community Hub on 24th  February at 7.00pm to discuss what format the village celebrations for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee should take over the extended Bank Holiday from June 2nd to 5th 2022.

Parish council leader, Paul Finlay, will chair the meeting and the council has voted £1,000 towards the celebrations.  However, it is not intended for the parish council to run the celebrations and we will need to form a committee.  For the Diamond Jubilee in 2012 there were several events over the weekend including a family bonfire and barbeque.   Already, nationally,  for the Platinum Jubilee there  are plans for beacon lighting on 2nd June and “The Big Lunch” on Sunday 5th June.

Please come along to the meeting, have your say and help organise the events.
